Reconstruction of the Cikampek - Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road Structure
The Cikampek, Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road Reconstruction Project is a strategic infrastructure initiative designed to enhance the quality, safety, and service capacity of one of Java’s most critical transportation corridors. Serving as a major route for logistics and passenger movement between western and eastern regions of the island, the Cipali Toll Road plays an essential role in supporting national mobility and economic flow.
The primary objectives of this project are to restore the structural value of the pavement system, extend the toll road’s service life, and improve safety and riding comfort for road users particularly through reducing surface irregularities. The reconstruction also aims to optimize the road’s load-bearing capacity to accommodate increasing heavy axle loads from logistics vehicles.
Key achievements of the reconstruction include the implementation of comprehensive civil engineering interventions focused on pavement rehabilitation. These include the identification and treatment of critical pavement distresses such as cracking, rutting, and potholes, and the execution of asphalt milling works at depths of approximately 5 –10 cm to remove degraded layers and establish a uniform surface for renewed structural performance.
